About Loud Light:
Loud Light isn’t about who wins the election. Loud Light is about who decides the winner.
In 2014, Kansas had one of the lowest youth voter participation rates in the nation and one of the least transparent state governments. In 2015, Loud Light (501c3) was founded to transform Kansas by building a better democracy. That means breaking down barriers to the ballot, producing accessible information, registering and turning out young voters, and preparing the next generation of Kansans to be civic leaders. In 2020, Loud Light Civic Action (501c4) was founded to unleash new opportunities for voter education and voting and civil rights advocacy. In 2021, we launched New Frontiers to build economic, social, and political power through culturally relevant grassroots organizing and local issue advocacy in Southwest Kansas; the youngest and most diverse region in the state.
We’re transforming Kansas through building community power, issue advocacy and education, leadership development, coalition building, pro-democracy litigation, and voter registration and turnout.
Loud Light Mission Statement: Loud Light engages, educates, and empowers individuals from underrepresented populations to build community power that has an impact on decision makers.
Loud Light Civic Action Mission Statement: Loud Light Civic Action is protecting and advancing voting rights and civil rights in Kansas.
